In Indonesia, the utilization of sea cucumbers as a food than any other fishery products classified as less popular because of low aesthetic value seen from the physical form of sea cucumbers that are less favored. However, the real sea cucumber is high in protein and in the dry state of the animal' s body according to the study contained 82% protein and is very useful for the Man. Besides sea cucumbers are also medicinal. Unfortunately most of the sea urchins from the wild is still so many obstacles that inhibit the Continuity of Production, including the dependence on the season. To that end, we seek to continue the cultivation of which we do to get maximum results. Dimancanegara particularly in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and the United States has had a more advanced processing techniques so that the sea cucumber has become one of the components of food that are very popular. Currently Indonesia became one of the leading dried trepang pengekpor countries with better quality. In Indonesia trepang exports annually reaches thousands of tons in the form of dried meat ( beche-de-mer) , salted intestines ( konowata) and gonad dry ( konoko) . The potential of sea cucumbers is quite large because Indonesia has a coastal waters with a wide habitats of sea cucumbers. Of the approximately 650 types of sea cucumbers that exist in the world 10% are in Indonesia and of that number certainly there are 7 types that are categorized as having high sales value namely: Sand sea cucumbers ( Holothuroidea Scabra) , black sea cucumber ( Holothuroidea edulis) , brown sea cucumbers ( Holothuroidea Marmoreta) , red sea cucumbers ( Holothuroidea Vatiensis) , koro Sea cucumbers ( Holothuroidea Nobilis) , sea cucumber pineapple ( Thelonota Anana) , and gamma sea cucumber ( Stichopus Varigatus) . Indonesia sea cucumber exports carried by few businessmen or distributors who buy directly from the craftsmen of sea cucumbers sea cucumbers in several regions in Indonesia, especially from Eastern Indonesia.
